If you are a charity, and you would like some extra help from having a vehicle donated to you, you can fill out a form to get started. You may be referred from someone who would like to donate to your charity, or you can request to be placed on the list of available charities. There is no obligation; it is one hundred percent free to you to sign up. Many people from all over donate a car, and they have to choose a charity to send the proceeds too, you can give your charity an extra boost by placing them on the list.

If you choose to receive donations from them, it does not mean you cannot receive donations from other places because you can. There is no contract that binds you solely to the car donations from them. Since you are non profit, they want to make sure you get the most donations you can from all areas that you are able too in order to keep your business going.

You will know you are getting the correct percentage because of the itemized receipt you will receive stating how much the vehicle sold for, and how much of the money was deducted for service charges. The left over money is then split into a percentage, and given to your charity in the form of a check.

You may have to fill out a paper stating you have received your donation for the person you donated the car for your charity. This allows them to claim the donation on their taxes without fear of getting into trouble with the IRS.
