Morris Animal Foundation
Morris Animal Foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to improving the health of animals by advancing veterinary medicine around the world. We accomplish this goal by selecting, funding, and monitoring humane health studies of diseases and conditions afflicting dogs, cats, horses, llamas, alpacas, and wildlife. Since 1948, the Foundation has funded more than1,200 studies and directs 100% of unrestricted donations (approximately $4 million per year) to improve veterinarians’ ability to diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases and other health-related conditions in animals. Over the years, we have witnessed some excellent results including the development of vaccines for parvovirus in dogs, feline leukemia, and Potomac horse fever, as well as breakthroughs in treating cancer, heart disease and kidney disease in cats and dogs and laminitis and colic in horses. Past reproductive research helped lead to the successful birth of a baby giant panda at the Smithsonian's National Zoo in Washington, D.C. We also have provided funding for veterinary care for the highly endangered mountain gorillas in Africa for more than 20 years. Your support will help us advance animal health worldwide.
